/ Main Meetings
'For when two or three are gathered in my name, there am I in the midst of them' Matthew 18:20
Every Wednesday night at 7:15pm we have our main meeting. Although the meeting has different formats and content each week, it is an opportunity to meet together to worship and learn about Jesus; a time of encouragement, teaching, growing and equipping ourselves for God’s work on campus.
A normal CU meeting would consist of a talk from a local speaker (usually preaching on a specific series throughout the term), a time of singing praises to God, hearing some feedback on learning about various projects and CU events that have been going on, a time of prayer and some encouraging and useful evangelism training designed for students at university. There’s normally a pub visit after the meeting to sit around and chat.
The main meetings will be held in the Sub Bar. The Sub Bar is the downstairs bar in Student Union building (Byron House). To get to the Sub Bar, go down the stairs below the cash machine following the sign!
/ Small Groups
'Surely you heard of Him and were taught in Him in accordance with the truth that is in Jesus' Ephesians 4:21
Every Monday night at 7.30pm we hold small groups throughout the city. Small groups are exactly that; small groups of Christians meeting together to study the bible, learn more about Jesus and support each other in the daily struggle that it is to live as a Christian in the student world.
The first small group will be held on 19th October. If you are interested in joining a small group, email the CU at trentcu@live.co.uk or look for us on the Freshers’ Fair
/ Thirst
Jesus came to serve, and on a Saturday night at 11pm we visit the student union club to serve tea, coffee, hot chocolate, lollies etc to students leaving the club. This is a great way to share your faith and you will be surprised at students who think it is strange to get something for nothing!
It is a great way to make your faith real, whilst at the same time, it’s not as daunting as it sounds, its normally great fun! If you want to get involved don't hesitate to contact us.
/ Houseparty
Once a year we leave the confines of Nottingham to visit an adventure camp in Northamptonshire for a weekend.
We have talks from a speaker who stays with us throughout the weekend, normally preaching on a book from the bible from start to finish. We also have workshops on biblical topics and worship together. It is a great time to learn more about each other, ourselves and more importantly, more about Jesus and what He has done!
The houseparty is always great fun with loads of activities and games to keep us interested! We also get to share the fun with our brothers and sisters in Clifton.
/ Misson Week
Every year we run a Mission Week. This is when we hold events everyday to bless the University and share the gospel. We run events like art exhibitions and pudding evenings. We give out 'Free' gospels at every event and say a little bit about being a Christian as well as having a lot of fun. A great week to invite friends too and share with them the gospel. This year our Mission Week is 22nd - 26th February
